Orthodontics is the medical-dental specialty dedicated to the prevention and correction of dental -maxillary malposition. The first orthodontic evaluation should be performed between 6 and 7 years of age.

Improved dental positioning is achieved through the use of fixed or removable appliances. Generally, the use of removable appliances is associated with earlier ages. However, both can be used in the treatment of a wide range of cases and adapted to each specific situation.
